Ciekawostki o serii

Znalezione w jednym z serwisie. Nie wiem na ile prawdziwe, choć wydaje mi się że tak. Nie wiem o ilu wiecie, więc..

Metal Gear Solid:

When Meryl attacks the guard near the beginning of the game and takes his clothing off, in the Japanese version you can see the guard knocked-out in his underwear, while in the American version his 'butt' is blurred.

The character of Hal Emmerich was named after Roland Emmerich, one of Hideo Kojima's favorite directors.

Hal Emmerich was originally conceived by Kojima to be a fat man who eats a lot of chocolate. It was character designer Yoji Shinkawa's idea to make him thin.

According to character designer Yoji Shinkawa, Mei Ling was modeled after the image of actress Shinobu Nakayama.

According to an interview with Hideo Kojima, Solid Snake was designed after Christopher Walken's face with Jean-Claudde Van-Damme's physique.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty:

Vamp was originally supposed to be a woman. However, with the introduction of Fortune into the game, Vamp had to be changed to a man.

The fictional "Dead Cell" organization used in the game is in fact a thinly veiled imitation of the real-life "Red Cell" naval team. As in the game, they functioned to test naval security and were involved in counter-terrorist activities before they were disbanded.

Some of the exchanges of dialogue between Jack and Rose are based on those between Hideo Kojima and his wife. For example, before they got married, she would always ask him what day it was. Once, when they had a date, he completely forgot about it. This is what Rose's continuous asking Jack "what day tomorrow is" is taken from.

Seconds before the start of the final Boss Fight, a flock of doves suddenly flies up behind Solidus. This is a reference to John Woo; in his films, doves are usually shown flying when a battle/shootout begins.

During a visit to a New York City Police Station in 1999, Yoji Shinkawa, dressed up in a bomb suit, a piece of equipment which later served as the inspiration for the design of the Character Fatman.

The script, written by Hideo Kojima, was over 800 pages long.

Hideo Kojima originally wanted to use the title "Metal Gear Solid III" for the immediate sequel to _Metal Gear Solid (1998/I) (VG)_. According to the original Japanese "Game Plan" featured in _Document of Metal Gear Solid 2, The (2002) (V)_, the idea of using the number III was based on the New York skyline, and Kojima wanted to confuse his public a bit by skipping a number. This idea was immediately discarded.

Emma's nickname (E.E.) and full name (Emma Emmerich-Danziger) are references to E.E. Danziger, a character in 'Jack Finney''s novel "Time and Again".

Dead Cell's bomb expert is called Fatman. The character was named after "Fat Man", the codename of the atomic bomb that was detonated over Nagasaki, Japan in 1945.

When, as Raiden, you are tasked to disable the C4/Semtex explosives on the Shell 1/2 connecting bridge, one of the C4 packs/control units is behind a Sons of Liberty flag. This flag is a thinly veiled reference to the First Navy Jack flag, where instead of Sons of Liberty, the writing is "Don't Tread on Me".

Every single hostage in the Shell 1 B1 Core has hands with a "white" skin color, even though many of the hostages are black.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater:

The date of the "Virtuous Mission", 24 August 1964, was Hideo Kojima's first birthday. It was originally 24 August 1963 (his exact birth date), but was moved up a year because he wanted the 22 November 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy to factor into the story.

The character of "The End" (as well as the concept of The Boss being Naked Snake's mentor) was based on a scrapped member of Dead Cell from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty called Old Boy (sometimes referred as Oldman). Old Boy (according to the MGS2 gameplan) was a 100-year old former Nazi general who wielded a Panzerfaust as his weapon of choice and was also a mentor to several soldiers, including Big Boss himself. His character was written out of the Metal Gear Solid 2 script because they could not find a way to fit it into the story.

When the torture scene was filmed, A possible "Yes" or "No" sort of mini game was going to be incorporated into the game, but was dropped based on its already graphic content.

When the torture scene was filmed, the motion capture actor playing Snake had to take breaks frequently because his shoulders hurt and could have dislocated because of the strain of holding them up at an uncomfortable position for so long.

One of Hideo Kojima's colleagues told him about and advised him to listen to stellastarr*, but Kojima heard "Starsailor". He liked the song "Way To Fall" and chose it as an ending theme.

The medal awarded to Snake at the end of the game is the Distinguished Service Cross. The Distinguished Service Cross is awarded to a person who, while serving in any capacity with the Army, distinguishes himself or herself by extraordinary heroism not justifying the award of a Medal of Honor; while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States; and/or while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing/foreign force. The act or acts of heroism must have been so notable and have involved risk of life so extraordinary as to set the individual apart from his or her comrades. The main difference between this award and a MoH is the number of witnesses required to verify the incident; a MoH requires statements from 7 witnesses, a DSC only 3, in this case Para-Medic, Major Zero, and Sigint.

Phosphorus grenades will continue to burn under water. However, if you throw a phosphorus grenade into a body of water, there will only be an explosion, no flames.

The first HALO jump was in 1960 not 1964.

The calorie mates first came out in 1983, yet this game is set in 1964.

In the game they say that they are in Russia but some of the areas used are in Kazakhstan.
Mr Oogie Boogie says there's trouble close at hand
You better pay attention now, cause I'm the Boogie Man
And if you aren't shakin' there's something very wrong
Cause this may be the last time you hear the Boogie song

Wiele z tych ciekawostek jest powszechnie znanych i występowały na Z. Część z nich widziałem na Wikipedii - to już sporna sprawa.

To jest ciekawe:

In the game they say that they are in Russia but some of the areas used are in Kazakhstan.

A to trzeba sprawdzić:

Every single hostage in the Shell 1 B1 Core has hands with a "white" skin color, even though many of the hostages are black.

Teraz wiemy po co oni tam byli, zawsze myślałem że chcieli dać tylko taką zbiorczą scenkę:

The main difference between this award and a MoH is the number of witnesses required to verify the incident; a MoH requires statements from 7 witnesses, a DSC only 3, in this case Para-Medic, Major Zero, and Sigint.

No może chodziło po prostu o ZSRR, a nie konkretnie o Rosję. Kazachstan powstał w 1991.
